Beschreibung:

I am a post graduate from the Wildlife Insitute of India, Dehradun before which I did my under graduation in Zoology from the University of Mumbai. I have a special interest in herpetology viz. the ecology of snakes and am interested to study their evolutionary and community ecology in varying habitat and climatic regimes of India.
King cobras are apex predators of their ecosystems. In India, they occur in a wide variety of habitats from the foothills of the himalayas to the rain forests of the Western Ghats and Northeast India. Despite such a wide distribution very few scientific studies have been conducted on the king cobra. This book focuses on one study carried out for a period of 6 months to understand the life of this magnificent and charismatic animal. Some of the results of the study are also excerpts from the radio telemetry study of the king cobra by the team at the Agumbe Rainforest Research Station (ARRS), the one of its kind study in India.
