M+M: 7 Tage

Der alltägliche Wahnsinn: Wir begleiten den Protagonisten des Filmzyklus 7 Tage von M+M durch eine Woche. Die nach den Wochentagen benannten Zweikanal-Installationen des Künstlerduos führen direkt in die Abgründe einer wechselhaften Psyche. Der österreichische Schauspieler Christoph Luser verkörpert die ambivalente, teils melancholisch teils bedrohlich wirkende Hauptfigur, die höchst gegensätzlichen Situationen ausgesetzt ist. Jeder Tag lehnt sich dabei an eine Schlüsselszene der Filmgeschichte an, wie etwa aus The Shining oder Saturday Night Fever.

Das Künstlerduo M+M - Marc Weis und Martin De Mattia - ist bekannt für seine begehbaren, selbst inszenierten und höchst intensiven Filminstallationen, die narrative Möglichkeiten der Kunst als auch des Kinos erweitern und gleichzeitig die Linearität der Erzählung vollkommen auflösen. M+M hinterfragen dabei Konzepte der Identität vor dem Hintergrund einer radikal veränderter Zeitwahrnehmung. Ihr neuer, groß angelegter Zyklus 7 Tage entstand in einem Zeitraum von 7 Jahren und wird in der gleichnamigen Ausstellungstour 2015 erstmals vollständig präsentiert. Each day, he borrows from a key scene from cinematic history, for instance from The Shining or Saturday Night Fever.
M+M - Marc Weis and Martin De Mattia - are known for accessible, self-staged, and highly intense film installations that expand the narrative potential of art as well as cinema and at the same time completely dissolve the narrative's linearity. In doing so, M+M question concepts of identity against the background of a radically altered perception of time. Their new, large-scale cycle 7 Days developed over a period of seven years and will be presented for the first time in its entirety in the exhibition tour of the same name in 2015.
