Big Shots! Vol. 2: More Shots from the World of Music, Fashion and Beyond

Phillip Leeds was born in 1970 and is a 4th generation upper west sider from the isle of Manhattan. As a teen, Phillip developed an affinity for photography and vintage cameras, which eventually led him to seek out a Polaroid Big Shot, after seeing Andy Warhol’s Red Book Exhibit. While making a career in music and fashion, Phillip took Polaroid portraits of friends, industry acquaintances and at other happenstance opportunities, resulting in an impressive and diverse collection of photographs. Stumbling into a chance to publish the collection, Phillip released Big Shots! in 2017.

Just as Andy Warhol's Red Books defined a generation of artists, Volume One of Phillip Leeds' book Big Shots offered a collection of photos that captured the energy of the world of hip-hop and the greater world of entertainment. What started as a hobby and a collection of snaps of friends and visitors, this unprecedented volume shot by Phillip Leeds, former tour manager of Pharrell Williams and N.E.R.D., is a compilation of previously unpublished work documenting some of the biggest names in music, art, fashion and culture. His collection of Polaroid portraits has effectively grown to capture an important moment in music and fashion. With more than 300 Polaroids of artists and figures including Mos Def, Jay Z, Tyler the Creator, Questlove, and Rita Ora, Big Shots gives readers a unique and oftentimes impromptu look into an era of music and fashion shared through the ever-nostalgic format of the Polaroid.
