Beschreibung:

The immigrants from the minor ethnics of South Asia and the native people in Hong Kong live under the same Lion Rock. However, it seems that we breathe different airs due to the difference of languages, religions and cultures. These restrictions always impede us and make us treat them as vulnerable group.Currently, there're few research works that deeply study how small enterprises from South Asia start their business, make efforts and entrench themselves in the commercial community in Hong Kong from the perspective of ethnic economy, immigrant integration and multi-culture. This book focuses on the small business owners of two ethnic groups from Pakistan and NepaliA revealing the different local stories concealed by the mainstream society in a long term. This book includes the interviews with non-governmental organizations to explore the reality of the multi-cultural communities in Hong Kong, which is expected to provide a new thinking for the policy makers and the mass people on the project of promoting the social integration of the immigrants from South Asia.
