Ir. Ts. Dr. Azwan Iskandar Azmi is currently an Associate Professor at Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Malaysia. He received his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, USA, and a master's degree in Advanced Manufacturing Technology from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He completed his doctoral study at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, in Mechanical Engineering in 2013, and has more than 10 years of experience in teaching, research, and industries. His area of research interests includes machining and machinability of carbon, glass, and hybrid composites, as well as difficult-to-cut metal alloys such as titanium, Inconel, and nickel-titanium (NiTi) alloys. So far, he has more than 80 research articles in renowned international journals, proceedings, and review papers, and serves as a reviewer for several reputable high-impact ISI journals and international conferences.

Ir. Dr. Mohd Shukry Abdul Majid is an Associate Professor at the School of Mechatronic Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Perlis. He received his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) in 2001. Upon his return to Malaysia, he worked as Research and Development (R&D) Engineer at a semiconductor industry before joining Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) as Lecturer in 2004. He completed his M.Sc. in Mechanical Systems Engineering from the University of Liverpool in 2005 and his Ph.D. in Composite Engineering from Newcastle University, UK, in 2011. An advocate of interdisciplinary research, his research interests are composite piping, looking at the performance of composite structures, NDE's of composites and natural fibre/green composites, hybrid reinforced/filled polymer composites, lignocellulosic reinforced/filled polymer and biodegradable composites. He has authored 149 Scopus indexed publications with 32 publications in ISI-ranked journals. Ir. Dr. Mohd Shukry has been honoured with numerous local and international awards for his achievements including ITEX, MTE, and PECIPTA, and is the first recipient from Technical University Network (MTUN) to have been awarded Malaysia's Research Star Award 2017, as one of Malaysia's most promising and influential researchers by the Ministry of High Education Malaysia (MOHE).

Ir. Dr. Mohd Ridzuan Mohd Jamir is currently working as an Associate Professor at Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Arau, Perlis. He received his Ph.D. from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) Malaysia, and his M.Eng. and B.Eng. from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor Baharu, Malaysia. His area of research interests is in studying natural fibre composites and looking at the performance of composite structures and tribological properties, hybrid reinforced/filled polymer composites, lignocellulosic reinforced/filled polymer, and biodegradable composites. So far, he has more than 80 research articles in renowned international journals, proceedings, and review papers and serves as a reviewer for several reputable high-impact ISI journals and international conferences.

This book covers current advances and practices in machining fibre-reinforced polymer composites under various conventional and nonconventional processes. It presents recent research and practices for effective and efficient machining of difficult-to-cut material, providing the technological 'know-how' on delamination-free of drilling, milling, trimming, and other cutting processes on fibre-reinforced polymer composites. It also guides the reader on the selection of optimum machining parameters, tool materials, as well as tool geometry. This book is of interest to academicians, students, researchers, practitioners, and industrialists working in aerospace, automotive, marine, and construction industries.

Discusses innovative experimental and analytical techniques for machining of fibrous composites

Chapter 1: Critical thrust force analyses and their effects on drilling FRP composites.- Chapter 2: Effect of drill geometry design on reduction of delamination damage in drilling FRP composites.- Chapter 3: Chapter 4: Innovative method for quantifying delamination damage in drilling FRP composites.- Chapter 5: Numerical and analytical approaches in drilling or machining of FRP composites.- Chapter 6: Cryogenics and thermal effects of drilling FRP composites on delamination damage and surface integrity.- Chapter 7: Study on tool wear and its effect on FRP composites machining.- Chapter 8: Tribological aspect in machining synthetic and natural fibre composites.- Chapter 9: Feed control method as a new method to reduce delamination during drilling of FRP.- Chapter 10: Chapter: Impact of induced damage due to drilling and machining on mechanical properties of FRP composites (including tensile and flexural strength).- Chapter 11: Recent advances in drilling and machining natural fibre or cellulose fibre composite.- Chapter 12: Chapter: Experimental and analytical studies of abrasive water-jet machining of FRP composites.- Chapter 13: Chapter: Novel method for laser processing of FRP composites.- Chapter 14: Vibration assisted drilling and milling for reduction of damage on FRP composites.- Chapter 15: Energy demand in machining FRP composites.- Chapter 16: Safety and environmental issues or concern in machining FRP composites.
