She has published on late antique and early christian archaeology, especially textiles, from Egypt.Gillian Vogelsang-Eastwood, Ph.D. (1989) in archaeological textiles, Manchester University, is a textile historian and director of the Stichting Textile Research Centre, Leiden, the Netherlands. She is particularly interested in Middle Eastern textiles and clothing.
An extremely rare and conspicuous find of oriental riding costumes in the late antique necropolis of Antinoopolis (Middle Egypt) brought together a number of specialists piecing together their evolution and historical context, resulting in this beautiful volume.
