According to the current situation of weakened immune systems and insufficient use of antibiotics, infections emerged as important medical disorders and pathogens, mainly bacteria and fungi causing many diseases which have gained resistance. The bioactive and antibacterial qualities of medicinal herbs have attracted attention as a result of this. Since they contain a variety of therapeutically significant active ingredients, medicinal or herbal plants have long been used as an alternative to antibiotics in the treatment of different diseases. Plant extracts have medical relevance because they can combat diseases that are resistant to antibiotics by acting on target locations different from those employed by antibiotics. Picrorhiza kurroa is one of the most important plants used in traditional medicine systems which grows naturally in the western Himalayas. It is also known as kutki in various languages, including Hindi. In the current study, the Disc Diffusion Method was used to investigate the antimicrobial activity of Picrorhiza kurroa extract.
