Introduction to Climate Change

Dr. Bandita Naik is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at the Methodist College of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad. She obtained her bachelor's degree from GKCET, Berhampur. Further, she obtained master's degree in Water Resources Engineering and Ph.D. from NIT Rourkela, Odisha. She has teaching experience of more than 10 years.

One of the most significant problems that the world is now experiencing in terms of the environment is climate change.Climate change is linked to a wide range of unfavourable effects, including those on agriculture, water resources, forests and biodiversity, health, coastal management, and temperature rise. The most significant effect that climate change will have on India is a decrease in agricultural production. Agriculture providesliving for the vast majority of the world's people, either directly or indirectly. Changes in climate would add stress to ecological and social systems that are already under enormous demand as a result of increasing industrialization, urbanisation, and economic growth. These pressures are already having a significant impact.This book discusses a variety of climate change-related concerns, with a focus on data collecting, hydrological factor analysis, and promoting hydrological design based on strong scientific principles forpreservation and use of water resources.The text gives the reader confidence and competence to take a professional test.
