The management of a huge quantity of waste from electric and electronic equipment (WEEE) represents a critical issue for the modern society. The negative environmental and health effects due to the improperly management are combined with the loss of valuable materials. Present book focused on the recovery of metals from WEEE with particular attention to indium from end-of-life liquid crystal displays (LCD). The information given here is the result of experimental activity, combined with process analysis which allowed the development of high efficiency treatments, suitable for the implementation on a real scale. The relevance of the environmental sustainability aspects, studied by a life cycle assessment (LCA) approach, make the book contents very useful for the choice of the best practice for the WEEE management.
