The wind farm impact on the environment in Tindouf

Dr Miloud Benmedjahed: I obtained Doctoral degree in science, option of physical renewable energy, in 2013 from Tlemcen University, Algeria.Currently I work as a researcher at Photovoltaic Transformation Division in Unity of Research in Renewable Energies in Saharan Medium, Adrar, Algeria.

The present study attempts to determine the stage to be followed for the choice of wind turbines, the design of the wind farm and their environmental impacts for Tindouf in Algeria, to start processing and simulation of the collected data (wind and temperature) every their hour over ten years, after the analysis of initial state and the estimation of wind energy and the economic evaluation was carried out for the wind farm (18 MW). We select the appropriate wind turbine of 8 types of the wind turbines, according to the lowest cost possible for the unit of energy possible. The best planning for an 18 MW wind farm is in two rows, where the distance between these two rows equal to 520m, the first row consists of 12 wind turbines Wgt800kW and the second range consists of 11 wind turbines of the same type, the distant between wind turbines is 208m. We evaluated the acoustic impact of our wind farms while basing on the (ISO 9613-2) method. Our simulation results are in agreement with the research tasks in this field, for that we can conclude that these noise levels do not have an effect on health and are in conformity with the Algerian standard.
