Preterm birth is associated with adverse outcomes in mothers who have their preterm infant hospitalized including,"stress". Mother's stress is rather related to infant behavioural problems, low educational level, and lack of social support. Hospitalization of preterm infant means that the emotional interaction between mother and infant was disrupted. Mother's stress has been defined as a mismatch between perceived resources, expectations and actual caregiving demands, and covers stress from different origins that places the parent-child relationship under lasting pressure. Reducing the levels of stress is important not only for improving parental psychological health but also because it may improve the efficacy of interventions that target these children's behavioral problems. In the hospital and in NICU, mother-infant interaction is possible in different ways. One of them is making use of representation therapeutic, such as Video Interaction Guidence(VIG). Since video allows to observe the reality of issue objectivity, it provides opportunity for creating adaptation between the interaction participants and contributes to the effectiveness of mother-infant communication.
