Im Fokus dieser Veröffentlichung stehen fünf aufstrebende Megastädte und mega-urbane Regionen auf der ganzen Welt. In unterschiedlichen Klimazonen gelegen, von unterschiedlichen ökonomischen Entwicklungsbedingungen und politischen Rahmenbedingungen bestimmt, ist jede der Städte mit unterschiedlichen regionalen Herausforderungen konfrontiert. Ausgehend von diversen Fallstudien und Pilotprojekten, zeigt das Buch frühe Konzeptualisierungen und die weiterführende Organisation integrativer Raum- und Stadtplanung zu Gunsten nachhaltiger und energieeffizienterer Stadtstrukturen und einer Anpassung der Städte an die Klimaveränderungen.
