Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) is a heterogeneous disease with distinct manifestations and prognostic and therapeutic implications. ALL in adults is a rare disease. The results of therapy remain unsatisfactory, and progress has been relatively slow. B-cell ALL (B-ALL) is a clonal malignant disease originated in a single cell and characterized by the accumulation of blast cells that are phenotypically reminiscent of normal stages of B-cell differentiation.
