Fallow Land and Unused Land Management Practices in Bangladesh

This book provides you prima picture on the uses of fallow land and unused land in the context of Bangladesh. People keeps land unused without any valid reason. Few of the reasons were highlighted in this book in keeping land fallow or unused.Some of the reasons are likely lack of inputs, scarcity of labour, land is not suitable for cultivation and shade and swampy of the places. We may adopt lot practices to bring fallow and unused land under cultivation. We may select perennial grasses, shade loving crops, shade bearing crops and go for multi-trellis production system. In the homestead we may create sun pocket entering enough sunlight. On pond side farming integration is very much important for maximum utilization of land. In Bangladesh, we can ensure food security by cultivating fallow and unused land with site specific crops by adopting suitable system of farming. Even we can use living tree, fence and roof top for the agricultural production.
