Edisson Sávio born in 1969, february, 25, in Recife, Pernambuco. He is a Mechanical Engineering undergraduated by UFPE in 1992, in PE, Brazil; Mester degree in Thermal Engineering by UFPE in 1995, in PE, Brazil; Doctor degree in Aeronautical Engineering by ITA in 2002, in SP, Brazil; and Post-Doctorate at ITA, in SP, Brazil.
This book was written to students and engineers that like the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) area; in other words, that like of programming algorithms to the resolution of physical problems. Some familiarity with code programming is required. However, through the computation courses teaching at the Universities the engineering student and common areas will have the capacity of programming the codes presented in this book and much more of his/her interest. The applications of this book aim aeronautical and aerospace problems, what it does not imply that it cannot exists the adjustment to other knowledge areas like: medicine, climatology, electromagnetism, etc. This book presents the TVD methods of Lax and Wendroff, Yee, Warming and Harten, Yee, and Yee and Harten, the TVD/ENO methods of Harten and Osher, Yang of second order, Yang of third order, and the UNO method of Yang and Hsu third order applied to the class of problems aforementioned. All the algorithms are implemented according to a TVD, ENO or UNO formulation. Good results are obtained with the schemes. A finite volume formulation and structured spatial discretization are employed. Some examples of turbulence are shown.
