Dr. Uday Abdul-Reda Hussein is the head of the clinical laboratory sciences department and a lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Thi-Qar, who has received a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Al-Nahrain, Iraq in 2014.
Epilepsy is a chronic neurological disorder characterized by disturbances of electrical activity in the brain and recurrent unprovoked seizures. This abnormal electrical activity may result in a variety of events, including loss of consciousness, abnormal movements, atypical or odd behavior, or distorted perceptions that are of limited duration. Verapamil and olanzapine possess antiepileptic effects through their action on oxidative stress, electrolyte levels and neurotransmitter receptors.
