Seed priming is basically a method of presowing seed treatment for increasing crops yield. Primed and dried seeds normally have a more rapid and uniform germination, especially under adverse environmental conditions. This priming may be conducted by using water or some chemical substances (Here pyridoxine and its natural source rice bran in sugarcane crop has been successfully evaluated). Seed soaking for a certain time accelerate germination, stimulates metabolic processes, early growth and development, and vigour index.
