Sophie Tarbouriech received the PhD degree in Control Theory in 1991 and the HDR degree (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) in 1998 from University Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France. Currently, she is full-time researcher (Directeur de Recherche) in LAAS-CNRS, Toulouse. Her main research interests include analysis and control of linear and nonlinear systems with constraints (limited information), hybrid dynamical systems. She is currently Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, Automatica and European Journal of Control. She is also in the  Editorial Board of International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control. She is also Senior Editor for IEEE  Control Systems Letters. Since 1999, she is Associate Editor at the Conference Editorial Board  of the IEEE Control Systems Society. She is also a member of the IFAC technical committee on Robust Control and Nonlinear Systems. She is also member of the IEEE Technical Committee on Hybrid Systems.
Antoine Girard is a Senior Researcher at CNRS and a member of the Laboratory of Signals and Systems. He received the Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics from Grenoble Institute of Technology, in 2004. From 2006 to 2015, he was an Assistant/Associate Professor at the Université Grenoble-Alpes. In November 2015, he joined the CNRS as a Senior Researcher. His research interests deal with analysis and control of hybrid systems. He is also interested in multi-agent and distributed parameter systems. Antoine Girard received the George S. Axelby Outstanding Paper Award from the IEEE Control Systems Society in 2009. In 2014, he was awarded the CNRS Bronze Medal. In 2015, he was appointed as a junior member of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF). In 2016, he was awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant.
Laurentiu Hetel received the Ph.D. Degree in Automatic Control from the Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine, Nancy University, France,in 2007. Since October 2008 he has been Associate Scientist (Chargé de Recherche) at CNRS. He works with the Centre de Recherche en Informatique, Signal et Automatique de Lille (CRIStAL, CNRS UMR 9189) in Lille, France. His research interests include stability and control of hybrid and sampled-data systems.
This book provides a broad overview of the current problems, challenges and solutions in the field of control theory, communication theory and computational resources management. Recent results on dynamical systems, which open new opportunities for research and challenges to be addressed in the future, are proposed in the context of computational and communication constraints. In order to take into the account complex phenomena, such as nonlinearities, time-varying parameters and limited availability of information, the book proposes new approaches for open problems with both theoretical and practical significance.

The contributors' research is centred on robust stability and performance of control loops that are subject to computational and communication constraints. A particular focus is placed on the presence of constraints in communication and computation, which is a critical issue in networked control systems and cyber-physical systems. The contributions, which rely on the development of novel paradigms are provided are by leading experts in the field from all over the world, thus providing readers with the most accurate solutions for the constraints.

Control subject to Computational and Communication Constraints highlights many problems encountered by control researchers, while also informing graduate students of the many interesting ideas at the frontier between control theory, information theory and computational theory. The book is also a useful point of reference for engineers and practitioners, and the survey chapters will assist instructors in lecture preparation.
