They have spent their lives in this town of Sunset, Texas.Danny Russell was born in Fort Worth Texas in 1950. His parents moved to a small community outside Fort Worth in 1952, to Newark Texas. At the age of 14, Russell's parents moved to Sunset Texas and there he spent the rest of his teen life growing up. He went to Bowie High School and graduated from Midwestern State University in 1975. He spent a career working for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service as a Civil Engineering Technician and retired in 2006. Today he spends time as a melon farmer, writer, and researches genealogy. He has been married to his wife Doris for 50 years.
