As the global pandemic strikes, communities all over the world face lockdowns. Simon Teague is an Australian who with his French girlfriend, decides to enjoy the confinement by holing up in a thirteenth century chateau in rural France. He leave Toulouse early to set it up, but she never makes it. He finds himself isolated, alone.He faces the uncertainty of his predicament by writing in a diary. Days go by, and then more days. He has no way to communicate with the outside world. He has no way of knowing what's going on. He has to confront not just being stuck in a chateau all by himself but he also has to confront his own sense of himself. He reviews his life, looking for meaning. He faces his own shortcomings looking for resolution. He begins to dig into the history of where he finds himself and then to his surprise that history begins to become a reality for him. Little by little he finds he is not as alone as he thought. He has goats and cattle, chickens and a rooster, butthen he begins to have the company of those souls who inhabited the chateau before him.
