Beschreibung:

Mr. Herman Tubick, was juror number 12 during the 288 sequestered days of the infamous Manson case for the murders of Sharon Tate, Jay Sebring, Steven Parent, Abigail Folger, Wojciech Frykowski, Leno and Rosemary La Bianca. Tubick was elected jury foreman and witnessed the testimony of all 83 witnesses in the prosecution case and the testimony of the defense witnesses during the penalty phase of the trial who tried to exonerate Charles Manson of all wrongdoing. Herman Tubick was 59 at the time of the trial and was employed as a Mortician at Rose Hills memorial Park. After the trial, in 1973, he and his wife Helen compiled a book based on his experiences and notes of what was important to him from each witnesses' testimony. It also sheds light on the deliberation process. The Tubick's put the book away for posterity until it was discovered by their daughter in 2017 and given to their nephew with permission to publish. Herman Tubick passed away on December 24, 1985. His wife and co-author Helen Tubick passed away March 4, 2002
Just when we thought there could nothing new about Charles Manson and the trial of the 20th century comes a never before published manuscript written by the Jury Foreman on the case. This piece of history had been hidden away until being discovered by Herman Tubick's daughter. The book, written in 1973 shows what it was like to be sequestered for 288 days and tasked to decide guilt or innocence, life or death. Jury foreman Tubick's notes clearly show what he and others felt was important in the witness testimony and what led to their verdict. INSIDE THE MANSON JURY includes additional excerpts and analysis taken from the original 20,000-page trial transcript including Manson's behind the scenes manipulations, as he tried to control the court, the lawyers, his co-defendants and the ultimate outcome. This book takes the reader into the courtroom from the perspective of the jurors and into the mind of a madman.
