Beschreibung:

Mary Wanless (BSc physics and BSc applied sports coaching)started riding at the age of fourteen. She passed her BHSI in 1978, after whichshe became disillusioned with the traditional ways of teaching and gave upriding. She was soon persuaded back on a horse, however, and subsequentlytrained with a number of internationally renowned dressage riders. She combinedher equestrian knowledge with experiences gained through studying psychology, biofeedback, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and the Alexander andFeldenkrais systems of bodywork. She founded the Rider Biomechanics movement inthe early 1980s, and recently, her riding and coaching have been enriched bystudying and applying the "Anatomy Trains" model of Thomas W. Myers, and thework of Eric Franklin. She has recently qualified as a Level 1 teacher of TheFranklin Method(R), and she continues to hone her model of both riding andtraining skills, and their development. She coaches both in the USA and at herown Overdale Equestrian Centre in the Cotswold Hills, UK. Wanless is the authorof the highly successful Ride With Your Mind books, and has also produced twelve videos on rider biomechanics(marywanless.com).
This book, with its copious photographs and illustrations, provides a route map for reorganising 'lines of pull', sitting, and influence on one's horse.
