Beschreibung:

Rosa Parks (1913-2005) devoted herself to the nonviolent pursuit of human rights, especially young people's rights, since refusing to give up her seat on a Montgomery, Alabama bus to a white man. She was born in Tuskegee, Alabama in 1913 and married Raymond Parks in 1932. Two years after the Montgomery bus boycott, in 1957, she moved to Detroit, Michigan. In 1987, she co-founded the Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute for Self-Development. She passed away in 2005 at the age of 92.
In this collection of children's letters and her responses, Rosa Parks shares her legacy of courage and wisdom, reminding young readers that their actions will determine the future. "Dear Mrs. Parks" is a moving commentary on our times, full of hope for the future. Photos.
