David Bonk is a lifelong student of military history and an historical miniatures wargamer. He is a member of the Historical Miniatures Gaming Society East, serving on the Board of Directors for six years. He studies and wargames the Renassiance, wars of the 18th and 19th centuries, and both world wars. He lives in North Carolina, USA.Peter Dennis was born in 1950. Inspired by contemporary magazines such as Look and Learn he studied illustration at Liverpool Art College. Peter has since contributed to hundreds of books, predominantly on historical subjects. He is a keen wargamer and modelmaker. He is based in Nottinghamshire, UK
In May and June 1918 the newly arrived American Expeditionary Force fought two actions that helped defeat the last German offensive of World War I. At Château Thierry a combined French and American force stopped the Germans from crossing the Marne River. Building on this success the US 2nd Division stopped the German advance on Paris and were given the task of recapturing Belleau Wood.
