Dr. Nazzy Pakpour is a queer Iranian-American mother of two witty and wonderful kids. She grew up and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. Dr. Pakpour loves bugs of all varieties, whether they are six-legged or microscopic. She received her Bachelors of Science in Entomology from the University of California Davis and her PhD in Microbiology, Virology, and Parasitology from University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Pakpour loves teaching and worked for a number of years as a professor before moving to the biotech sector. She currently works as a scientist at Novozymes where she researches how to use microbes to build a more sustainable future.
