The deep divides in America and throughout the world are threatening the stability of humankind. Fear, anger, and violence are raging in too many arenas.

Discovering Kindness is a poetic effort to inspire kindness as a pathway to healing the divides. Jim Boeglin, a retired attorney who has had a front row seat observing the battle between kindness and unkindness, explores why unkind attitudes have become the norm.

White supremacists, unfounded conspiracy spreaders, racists, xenophobes, homophobes, and other easily misguided and angry individuals have demonstrated cruel, sometimes violent, and mean-spirited behaviors that place the very essence of American values at risk.

Schisms have appeared within families, among longtime friends, neighbors, and inside political, social, and religious organizations. Unconditional kindness and forgiveness may offer the only viable way forward.
