Fran Balkwill, author, is Professor of Cancer Biology at Barts and the London School of Medicine where she leads the Centre for Cancer and Inflammation. Together with Mic Rolph she has written many science books for children. Fran is also Director of Centre of the Cell, a science centre and interactive website for children (centreofthecell.org). In 2008 she was awarded an OBE for services to Science Communication to children.
