I’m You, or the Clone and I

Twenty years into the future, Dr. Harry Saul agrees to be cloned. The experiment re-shapes his life and character. The implanted egg is gestated by Pam Rubin, a lesbian psychiatrist. But the embryo is found to be vulnerable to schizophrenia.
Harassed by an intrusive government, the two take refuge in the Army. Harry becomes an Army flight surgeon. During his service, he's marooned in a crash on an Alaskan glacier, battles a typhoid epidemic in the Philippines and plays a role in a near war with China.

Pam and Harry forge a loving relationship. But their son, Phil, develops schizophrenia. They cope with the disease using the latest treatments. Finally, Harry risks himself in a mind-transfer experiment to cure his son.

Author William Goldsmith is a psychiatrist with a practice in Los Angeles. He retired as a flight surgeon in the Air National Guard and is a veteran of three wars. His favorite authors include Somerset Maugham, Robert Benchley, C.S. Forester, and Jane Austen.
