The author, Sandy Pina, has incorporated a humorous spin on an otherwise sad, serious, and sometimes odious subject. Nana Toot is two stories intertwined. It’s about a seventy-ish senior who was married to her high school sweetheart for more than fifty years when he suddenly passed away. She must find purpose again when she thinks there is none. With the support of her family; her doxie, Jimmy Dean; and her besties—Judy and Marcy Lou, whom she met at Get Your Giddy Up—Senior Center, she embraces life again.

Even though Nana Toot is fit for her age, she is stressed over her malfunctioning sphincter valve! When that happens, you’re in for a “fart storm” of funny problems and challenges. Nana Toot is about how she accepts what she cannot change and discreetly toots her way through out her day, breaking wind again and again!
