Comments from the editor of Archway Publishing: "In this book, a young girl observes a nesting owl in a cottonwood tree she can see from her bedroom window. She asks her mother about the owl and decides to protect her and her young from predators and accidents. Young readers will learn about the delicacy of life and that they should protect, not disturb or touch, wildlife." Also from the editors of Archway Publishing: "Luella's Christmas Surprise" by Nancy Gaenzle To be released by November 2018 "I really enjoyed reading this Christmas story, and I am sure young readers will love the story of Luella and the secret of who her neighbor really is ! About The Author: Author Nancy Gaenzle was born and raised in a small town in southern Idaho on the Camas Prairie. Her love for wildlife comes from her grandmother, Mary Gaenzle, who had a special fondness for birds. Nancy, a retired schoolteacher, has one daughter, Marta, and one granddaughter, Luella. The Luella books are named after her granddaughter. The characters are named after actual family members to honor their legacy and their positive influence on her life. Coming in 2019: "Luella and Frank the Pheasant" "Luella and Mary the Mourning Dove" "Luella Visits Grandpa John's Cabin"
Many types of animals live on farms. Some of the most interesting ones, though, are only visiting for a while. Like a very special owl.
In author Nancy Gaenzles book, Luella and Nita the Owl, a little girl sees an owl in a tree outside her window. She is fascinated with her, especially after Luellas mother tells her all about owlsespecially how important it is that mother animals, like Nita, are left alone when tending their young. So Luella does all she can to make sure everyone leaves Nita and her babies alone. And in the process, she gains a friend.

The Luella Books are wholesome and family oriented. They were written especially for children in primary grades. Parents and grandparents will enjoy reading these books to their children.

Ann Vogt, school teacher
