Having written more than thirty non-fiction titles, in 2003 he received the prestigious Premio Capo Circeo, a cultural award that is presented annually by the German-Italian Friendship Association.
Described as one of the greatest mass-murderers in history, Rudolf Höss, was born in Baden-Baden, on the edge of Germany's Black Forest region, on 11 December 1901.
