Bill Laws war Garten- und Landschaftsarchitekt, bevor er begann, Bücher über die Gestaltung von ländlichen Gartenanlagen und Bauernhäusern zu schreiben, darunter "Landhausträume", "Traditional Houses of Rural France", "Old English Farmhouses", "Traditional Houses of Rural Spain".
