Beschreibung:

The author is one of those that people refer to as a self-made businessman who went on to serve at the top of international public limited companies. Nevertheless, he always nurtured an ambition to retire early and travel the world with time still to enjoy it. As such he visited every country that existed at the time of his birth bar Afghanistan and Iraq but is in no hurry to complete the task. He has retained his interest in business, politics and current affairs enriched by his travel experiences. Keen on sports of all kinds be it participating or spectating he once said he would watch his country compete even if it were only at tiddlywinks. In due course he specialised in endurance events taking part in the Ironman world championships in Hawaii. He is a chess enthusiast and has represented a number of counties as he has moved around the country. One of the last intake of national servicemen he served in the War Office and proudly recounts the moment he caught a national spying for Russia back in the days of Kim Philby and the infamous five educated at Cambridge. He always enjoyed challenges but never expected to find himself in quite so many dangerous situations that life has thrust upon him. Once responsible for opening a railway station for a small village he has always enjoyed such unlikely undertakings. His first business book was published in 1974 as a young man, but after writing three more such books his career as an author was interrupted by business and family responsibilities. More recently however, like many others, the lock downs over the pandemic gave him the opportunity to write again, but this time in a different genres. Married twice, he has two grown up children, each of whom have two children of their own.
This is the story of the intertwined lives of two individuals and, for a very special time in their lives, a most remarkable cat called Sophie. Johnathon was the all-action man with an insatiable curiosity, travel lust and adventures in all areas of life. By some unwritten law it seemed he was constantly encountering threats to his very existence of one nature or another, or you might say he was rather accident prone! Whilst he became somewhat blasé about his "near death" encounters, other quite exceptional occurrences defied all explanation. If Johnathon was the go-getting action man then Sue Lynn was quite the opposite. Shy, caring, and of a modest disposition she was quite fearful of the world in many ways. There was a total innocence about her. Quiet and unassuming with concerns over her identity Sue Lynn lived in a very different world in more ways than one.
Fate, it seemed, was always destined to bring them within close proximity, only to whisk them away again. That said, the juxtaposition between two such substantially different characters would always potentially be as conflicting as it might prove entertaining.
In time, as events unfold, Sue Lynn becomes all the more confident, and Johnathon will surely find himself overshadowed. In the midst of the most extraordinary revelations, and as fulfilling and exciting a life as Johnathon had experienced, nothing could come close to the extraordinary climax to Sue Lynn's story in a million years.
