Beschreibung:
Ingrid Bego is Assistant Professor of Political Science at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska, USA. Her main research interests lie at the intersection of democratization and European Union membership. She is interested in issues of representation of marginalized groups, and institutional transformations as a result of regime transition, as well as public policy transformations as a result of membership in International Organizations.
One of the solutions proposed by the European Union to remedy the effects of the 2008 economic crisis is to increase female labour participation. This book explores the policy changes in four new member states that may reduce the gender employment gap and improve women's equal participation in the labour force.
