Dr. Eric Weiss is the Co-Author of Educating Marston. Dr Weiss practices all aspects of plastic surgery including: breast reconstruction. He has recently incorporated Umbilical Cord Blood/Stem Cells into his practice after seeing the incredible healing properties in his son Marston. Born in Brunswick, Maine, he spent his early childhood in New York. His father was a physician and mother an active volunteer in his schools. Dr. Weiss graduated Magna Cum Laude from Davidson College with special attainments in chemistry. And attended Duke University Medical School. Christine Weiss is the author of Educating Marston, a compelling memoir about a mother and son's journey through autism. Chris was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts and is passionate about helping parents and children on the autism spectrum. She graduated from Clearwater high school and Florida State University with a BA of Science in "Food and Nutrition" as well as a minor in chemistry. Currently, Chris resides in Jacksonville, Florida.
"What comes after 'hi'? This is the question that goes through the mind of kids with autism. Everyone experiences happiness, sorrow, anger, fear, loneliness -- including kids on the spectrum, but they often sound very different. They have issues with confidence and don't know what comes after 'hi,' which makes it very difficult for them to succeed in social situations. In the 1990s, autism wasn't widely talked about, and 'networking' didn't exist. Eric and I were literally on our own. I'd start every morning believing that today was the day Marston was going to look back into my eyes, reach for me, smile for the first time, and walk -- and he'd say 'Mama.' By the time he'd turned three, I'd uttered that prayer a thousand times. I was more determined than ever to shatter the glass that separated my son from the rest of the world. This memoir of our journey of educating Marston through programs like The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential, Vision Therapy, Marion's Blank Approach to reading, hippotherapy, ballroom dancing, and the list goes on... until we discovered stem cell replacement therapy. Love, faith, and teamwork have taught Marston how to strike up a conversation beyond the word 'hi' and how to do so much more.. We cracked the glass, but we believe STEM CELL REPLACEMENT THERAPY will ultimately shatter it. Now it's our job to share our story with the world because one win for autism if a victory for us all." -- From back cov
