Haitian Redemption

Jack tries to join a mission to Haiti to avoid working for family business and take a run at the mission director. But once he submits his name; his parent and the mission place restrictive rules on his behavior where a violation will have him sent home and he will lose access to family income. Forced to accept the terms, Jack is paired with Jessica as a teammate. Jessica challenges him and needs to decide whether to follow his parents’ rules to redeem himself or risk everything that he thought was important to pursue Jessica. Jessica keeps a big secret from Jack and her desire is to have Jack surrender his access to his family's money. Once she wins his heart, can she keep it? Will Jack become the man she deserves?

The backstory covers conditions in Haiti and ideas put into place during the mission. The mission's purpose was to build housing and develop food sources. The missionaries expanded their mission by learning Haitian foods and discovering hurdles faced by residents including the poorest people who add contaminated mud to food to extend it. They know they may get sick later, but it fills the belly now. Other issues the missionaries find include orphans and a practice called Restavek.
