Beschreibung:

Ravi Shankar is the founding editor of Drunken Boat and the author/editor/publisher of 10 books and chapbooks of poetry, including W.W. Norton & Co. s Language for a New Century: Contemporary Poetry from Asia, the Middle East & Beyond (2008), the National Poetry Review Prize winner Deepening Groove (2011), and Instrumentality (2004), the Finalist for the Connecticut Book Awards. He has won a Pushcart Prize, appeared in the New York Times, the Paris Review, the San Francisco Chronicle and on PBS, BBC & NPR. He is a Professor of English at CCSU and teaches in the first international MFA Program at City University of Hong Kong.
"[T]he two of you rubber-banding / even with the inevitable decay into something / else" might be an apt description of the poetic process of Ravi Shankar's exhilarating new book, What Else Could It Be: collaboration as a seamless Möbius strip between Shankar and one of a myriad of other contemporary poets, interlaced with ekphrastic poems in dialogue with visual art and dance. --Sharon Dolin
