Robert J. Shallenberger is a conservation biologist who shares his passion for wildlife through his photography. He is currently the Hawai'i Island Conservation Director for The Nature Conservancy and vice president of the Hawai'i Wildlife Center. His photographs have appeared in several books and magazines, such as National Geographic, Audubon, National Wildlife, and Defenders.
More than 300 species of seabirds range across the world's oceans. In excess of 14 million birds, representing nearly two dozen species, make their home in the Hawaiian islands.
