Friedman ist der prominenteste Theoretiker der Chicagoer Schule des Monetarismus, war Berater führender Politiker auf der ganzen Welt und ist auch heute noch ein gefragter Experte mit hoher Präsenz in deutschsprachigen Medien.

Instead of Lincoln's government "of the people, by the people, and for the people”, we now have a government "of the people, by the bureaucrats, for the bureaucrats”, including the elected representatives who have become bureaucrats.
