Mark M. Dean and his family live in Southeast Ohio on a small horse farm nestled into the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. His endeavors as an Author, Lyricist, and Poet are fueledby childhood memories of many family tales and exploits regarding the colorful characters in his clan. Mark has had the pleasure of living in ten states stretching from Rhode Island to Texas while also having lived and traveled abroad. His 20 years of Military service involved 12 family moves which gave him keen insight into the importance of bonding through stories, songs, and poems. Mark struggled with childhood dyslexia and desires to payback all those that helped him develop his imagination through reading and pass on that love to children. He has both an Undergraduate and Master's Degree from Miami of Ohio and Ohio University respectively.
Coal Coalson and Andy Anderson are two cousins setting out on the riverside adventure of their lives! The ornery ten and eight-year-olds have swallowed their PawPaw's fishing "tail" hook, line, and sinker, about Charlie, a legendary gigantic catfish. This yellow finned catfish is "as big as a house, and as long as a tree" and as the story goes has "eaten bicycles, a helmet, and many a shoe." The mischievous boys spend a hot summer's day creating a tale of their own, exploring the river from above and below the surface in pursuit of the catch of a lifetime.
