The lives of a very eccentric family Sir Basil and Lady Clarissa Hare Bell and their children who live in a large manor House in England is dramatically changed with the arrival of an American Charles Huxley who is an advocate of Cryogenics - the theory that the freezing of ones body after death may in the future lead to the thawing out and the restoring to life of the frozen body. A resurrection very much anticipated by all.

The discussions which arise from this idea explore the more bizarre aspects of cryogenics as well as the inevitable passing of time and leads to great family turmoil as well as many humorous situations.


Eternity for Sale is Renate Yates' fourth novel. It is a black comedy and continues her exploration of the many ways people find to manipulate time, situations and events which leave themselves vulnerable to a sharp pen. It is both stylish and intriguing.
