Louise Baxter has worked as a journalist and editor for 15 years, but since moving from Perth to Melbourne in 2016, has become a busy creative. She writes poetry, fiction and essays, as well as plays for the stage and screen. Her theatre work has been staged around Melbourne, including an original cabaret and monologue showcases, while her poems and short stories have featured in The Victorian Writer magazine and the Hunter Writers Centre's Grieve 2018 anthology.In her spare time, Louise can usually be found nesting at a cafe, cinema, library or bookshop, strolling through parklands, patting dogs, taking a dance or Pilates class, drinking Martinis, swimming, cooking, gardening or disco napping.
