Bailey Ashton Adie is Research Affiliate in the Geography Research Unit at the University of Oulu, Finland; Visiting Research Fellow at the Center for Tourism Research, Wakayama University, Japan; and Chair of the Leisure StudiesAssociation. She has a PhD in Management and Development of Cultural Heritage from IMT Lucca, Italy. Her research interests include community resilience, second homes, community-based tourism, World Heritage tourism, tourism and development, and heritage tourism. She is the author of the Routledge book World Heritage and Tourism: Marketing and Management. She sits on the editorial boards of the Journal of Heritage Tourism, Tourism Geographies, Tourism Management Perspectives, and El Periplo Sustentable. Her work has been published in book chapters as well as in leading journals, including Annals of Tourism Research, Current Issues in Tourism, and Journal of Sustainable Tourism.
