Honi J. Bamberger is coauthor of Math Misconceptions and Activities to Undo Math Misconceptions, as well as Introduction to Connections (PreK - 2, 3 - 5, and 6 - 8), part of Heinemann's Math Process Standards Series. She is a professor in the department of mathematics at Towson University. A former classroom teacher, she is a mathematics education researcher, the author of numerous other books and articles, and a nationally recognized speaker on math education.

Children enter school filled with all kinds of ideas about numbers, shapes, measuring tools, time, and money--ideas formed from the expressions they hear ... the things they see on television ... the computer screen ... in children's books ... all around them.
