Turner Cassity was born in 1929 in Jackson, Mississippi. He is the author of seven books of poetry, including Hurricane Lamp, also published in the Phoenix Poets series.
Cassity's new collection turns an icy needle-spray on topics as diverse as a Polynesian firedance, Johannes Brahms, and the Banque de l' Indo-Chine.
