Winner Of The 17th Int.Chopin Piano Competition

Drei Wochen - 84 junge Pianisten aus aller Welt und jede Menge Musik. Im Finale konnte der 21jährige südkoreanische Pianist Seong-Jin Cho die 17. international Chopin Piano Competition für sich entscheiden.

Deutsche Grammophon veröffentlicht am 6. November ein Rezital-Albumdes Gewinners mit Live-Aufnahmen aus der Finalrunde. Der Albumrelease ist der erste Schritt einer strategischen Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem Warschauer Chopin Institut und der Deutschen Grammophon, die darauf abzielt, hochbegabte Interpreten der Musik Chopins zu fördern. Beim Chopin Klavierwettbewerb wurden einige der bekanntesten Pianisten aller Zeiten entdeckt, unter anderen Maurizio Pollini, Martha Argerich, Krystian Zimmerman, Yundi und Rafal Blechacz.

Später im Jahr 2015 erscheint ein 11 CD Boxset, das Aufnahmen von Preisträgern des Zeitraums zwischen 1927 und 2007 enthält.

Der Gewinner Seong-Jin Cho sagt: "Es ist für mich wirklich ein Traum damit in Erfüllung gegangen, diesen großen Wettbewerb zu gewinnen. Chopins Musik erzählt uns soviel über das Menschsein und spricht direkt das Herz an. Ich hoffe, dass die Aufnahme alle die sie hören berühren wird."
