Mr.Orfega Benjamin Kwaghvihi was born in 1988, to the family of Chief,Kwaghvihi Anga inGboko,Benue State. He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Fisheries and Aquaculture from University of Agriculture Makurdi with Second Class Upper Division.Currently he is working on his M.Sc dissertation as a post graduate student with Benue State University Makurdi.
Fish parasites could constitute significant economic losses in fish production if not controlled. This significant loss is not only mortality, but also from treatment expenses, growth reduction during and after out-breaks of diseases and this militates against expansion of aquaculture. People with underlying disorders, particularly liver diseases, are more susceptible to parasitic infestation. There is need to study the parasites of Heterotis niloticus, their site preferences because there is lack of information on parasites infestation of this fish species from the lower Benue River. And this will hopefully assist the Benue state immediate community on appropriate prophylactic measures to take for its control.
