Our mother Rachel was a shepherd in her father's house. Jacob fled from the Land of Canaan to Haran to escape the wrath of his brother Esau and fell in love with Rachel at first sight. The winding road to their wedding is described in detail, as are the acts of deceit by Laban, the father of Rachel and Leah, and the rivalry between the two sisters. From here the story unfolds until the birth of Benjamin, Rachel's second son, and their return to Canaan.The serious, albeit humorous comic was written in Hebrew by Ronit Zeroni, Israeli illustrator and animator, and painted in black pen and Japanese Nihonga ink.
